Owner Bio
Rumors that John M. (pbot) was replaced with an alien clone in the off-season prior to 2006 have never been confirmed, nor have they ever been truly refuted. The elusive owner has steadfastly refused to subject himself to a DNA test, usually citing loose bowels or a meeting with JJ's agent as reasons why. But the facts are clear that the organization gained momentum at that point, breaking a string of a then-record five successive cellar finishes by stealing third and never really looking back.
If the alien plot rumors are true, the real pbot was encased in a pot of slag steel and floated down the Delaware river. Satellite magnetic imaging technologies have found a possible signature of an iron plug buried under the roiling current of the Delaware, but as yet no financial backer has decided to pursue the matter.
Until then, we'll assume it's really pbot who has guided the franchise to a pair of division titles. Who knows? It might be him.
