"It's strange. Weird," is the way the Potomac manager put it. "Like it was supposed to happen. Whenever something did happen, it didn't surprise us. We truly believed we would win."
Today at Ballpark of Potomac, Potomac completed its magical run to the STK Memorial Cup title with a 9-3 triumph over the Waxahachie Supercolliders. It was the 1st time they have won it all. In the regular season, Potomac notched a 75-56 mark and took first place in the JJ League Gonzo Division standings.
And how does it feel to lose the STK Memorial Cup?
"Your heart is heavy and your stomach is empty" is the way the dejected Waxahachie skipper described it. "It's the lowest of lows, when you lose... and the highest of highs, when you win." |  | Tuesday, August 21st, 2035: Davis Hexed: No-Hit by Méndez "Ánibal Méndez was just was just plain nasty on the mound today," according to his batterymate and quite a few of the Davis Stallions after the Palm Springs hurler fired a 4-0 no-hitter.
The Stallions were powerless against him. "It is what we call in baseball 'filthy'... his stuff was just too much for us today," the losing manager told reporters after the game."
In an overpowering performance Méndez faced 30 batters in all and finish the game with 6 strikeouts and 3 walks.
"After the first couple of innings, I knew I had some good stuff going," Verlander said. "In the bullpen, it really wasn't that good, to be honest. But when I got out on the mound and flipped the switch, I had some pretty good stuff. I had a good fastball with control and I was able to throw my breaking ball and changeup for strikes."
Méndez has posted a 10-8 record in 2033 with a 2.89 ERA. Teams are hitting .213 against him and he has rung up 144 strikeouts in 168.1 innings. |  | Thursday, August 9th, 2035: Gamble Tosses Shutout Against Potomac Harlan Gamble humbled the Potomac Pop Rocks today at Blue Team Ballpark. In the 6-0 shutout win, he yielded 4 hits, fanned 5 and walked 6 to pace the Field B Blue Team to victory.
