| Breaking News | | Tuesday, September 30th, 2031: Lott Batters Berkeley Big Time It was a big day with the bat for Artie Lott of the Ashland Victorians at Cockmasters Ballpark as he bashed out hit after hit after hit to defeat Berkeley 8-4.
To the press after the ballgame he modestly said, "Guys, it's just one game in a long season. I hit it hard and found some holes today. 5 hits in 5 tries. But my hits are not the big thing in the game. The victory is the important thing. That's the story."
At the end of the game Lott had collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats and a small mention in the record book. He was happy. He had a big day with the bat. And the Victorians had won.
The beat writers were happy, too. They had their big story -- they could write about his big day with the bat.
A. Lott singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off J. Cooper in the 9th.
So far this season Lott has 6 home runs and a .322 batting average. | | Tuesday, September 9th, 2031: Stevens's Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games Tracy Stevens, catcher for the Potomac Pop Rocks, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 2 hits in his club's 8-4 victory today over the Ashland Victorians at Ballpark of Potomac.
