Miami right fielder Don Rhodes wielded a big stick today against the Supercolliders and his club walked off the field winners by the score of 5-2. Rhodes helped tame Waxahachie with 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
D. Rhodes singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off W. Fleming in the 9th.
This season Rhodes is batting .317 with 16 home runs. He has scored 73 runs and driven in 78.

 | Saturday, August 25th, 2035: Dávila Put on Shelf, Listed DTD
It's a long season and everyone picks up some cuts and bruises along the way. The latest star to be suffering this year is Carlos Dávila of the Trenton Roadkill, who suffered a dislocated shoulder while throwing a pitch in yesterday's contest against Orono. While he could play through the injury, it's unclear whether or not the Trenton organization will risk that or simply sit him out for the 1-2 weeks the injury is expected to last.
This season Dávila has recorded 31 saves with a 0-4 record. He's made 45 relief appearances, tossed 42.1 innings while fanning 38 with a 2.55 ERA.

 | Wednesday, August 15th, 2035: Ruíz Whitewashes Gravediggers
"I felt great out there. After the second or third inning, I got real comfortable," Felipe Ruíz said in his postgame interview. "Hopefully this is a building block for me. I'm hoping for a few more starts like this."
The Death Valley hurler scored a 7-0 shutout victory over the Gravediggers, stopping them on 2 hits. He rung up 12 strikeouts and gave up 3 walks in today's performance.
This year Ruíz has a 12-4 mark in 23 starts with a 2.29 ERA. He has given up 119 hits in 161 innings, struck out 219 and issued 59 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .201 batting average against him.
