Today the Hype League announced the Player of the Week Award. This week's honoree is Carman's talented center fielder Doug Washington. When he steps into the batter's box, it's usually a bad omen for pitchers.
For the week Washington batted .500 (13-26) with 2 home runs and 6 RBIs.
To date Washington has chalked up a .253 average with 16 home runs, driven in 55 runs and scored 61 times.

 | Friday, August 17th, 2035: Portland Whitewashes Queens, Mota Winner
Dominic Mota of the Portland Fighting Prawns was really in the zone as he mowed down the Queens hitters 4-0 in a sterling mound performance.
"I'm feeling good overall," he said.
"I'm executing my pitches, I'm able to hit my spots and I'm getting outs in key situations."
Mota shut down the Queens Bees, blanking them on 6 hits while registering 9 strikeouts and no walks.
In 2033, Mota has chalked up 17 wins and 6 losses in 27 starts with 190 strikeouts in 211.1 innings and a 2.90 ERA.

 | Sunday, August 5th, 2035: Quezada Pitches Shutout
Edgardo Quezada of the Little Rock Squealing Pigs shut down the Davis Stallions 1-0 on a 2-hitter, holding them scoreless while ringing up 13 strikeouts and allowing no walks.
After the game Quezada said, "Guys have been fouling off a lot of pitches lately and I've been getting into too many deep pitch counts, but I'm pleased with the way things went today. I went right after them and stayed ahead in the count."
This season Quezada has fanned 180 in 144.1 innings and collected a 8-7 record with a 2.68 ERA.
