At Stallions Ballpark J.J. Nelson of the Davis Stallions put on a hitting clinic today against West Oahu. He banged out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and mauled Cane Fires pitching, but came up short in the win department.
In spite of his standout 5-hit performance, the Cane Fires captured the game by the score of 7-6.
"Hey, it's great to get that many hits in a game, but it would have been nice to win the game, too," were his words in the postgame interview.
J. Nelson singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, was hit by a pitch in the 7th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 11th.
So far this season, Nelson has recorded a .285 batting average with 84 hits, 20 home runs, 47 RBIs, 37 runs scored and a .350 OBP.

 | Thursday, July 11th, 2030: Great Week for Edinburgh's Ángel López
All week long nobody could get Ángel López out in the Stafford League and that is the prime reason he was voted the Player of the Week.
The Edinburgh second baseman took home the trophy by blasting 12 hits in 25 at-bats for a .480 batting average, driving in 5 runs and scoring 1 times.
López is batting .309 with 3 home runs and 19 RBIs this season.

 | Tuesday, June 18th, 2030: Rin Hurls Masterpiece
Masu Rin really wowed everybody at the ballpark with his 4-0 shutout victory over West Oahu today. The Palm Springs pitcher mystified the Cane Fires in a strong performance. He gave up 3 hits and totaled 1 walk and 9 strikeouts.
His manager said, "Masu had them chasing a lot of pitches and turning around and saying 'wow' . . . we were thinking the same thing, too. It was something special to watch."
In 2030 Rin has compiled a 7-3 record with a 2.77 ERA in 13 starts.
