Wednesday, August 22nd, 2035: Doug Washington Captures HL Award
Today the Hype League announced the Player of the Week Award. This week's honoree is Carman's talented center fielder Doug Washington. When he steps into the batter's box, it's usually a bad omen for pitchers.

For the week Washington batted .500 (13-26) with 2 home runs and 6 RBIs.

To date Washington has chalked up a .253 average with 16 home runs, driven in 55 runs and scored 61 times.
Thursday, August 16th, 2035: Nieto Goes Deep 3 Times
Going... Going... Gone!
Alonso Nieto did it three times in the Las Vegas 7-6 victory over the Triangle Vajdas.
Three home runs in one game! "I was in a groove," he said, "and every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit."

Commenting after the game to the press, the elated Nieto explained, "I tell you what, I was so shocked because I didn't think the last ball had enough to get out. I thought it was just going to be a long out."

For the day the Las Vegas right fielder went 3-5 against Triangle with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting.

A. Nieto hit a solo-shot off B. Perea in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off B. Perea in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off B. Perea in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.

Nieto is batting .262 this season in 115 games with 20 home runs, 84 RBIs and 68 runs scored. He has 119 hits in 454 at-bats.
Saturday, August 11th, 2035: Rodríguez Guns Down Pioneers
The Pioneers can take comfort in knowing that they will not have to face Manny Rodríguez again for a while. The 31-year-old hurler pitched a 3-hit shutout to help the London Knights beat Palm Springs 2-0. In the process, Rodríguez struck out 1 and walked 3.

Taking a look at his season stats for 2035, Rodríguez has made no relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 11-6 won-lost mark with a 2.41 ERA. In pitching 153.1 innings, he has totaled 80 strikeouts and 36 walks.
