Wednesday, August 28th, 2030: Paul Shuts Out Vice
On the hill Anthony Paul stood out and was the master of the moment as he blanked Miami 2-0.

At bat the Vice floundered, fizzled and failed to score.

"His fastball moves and he mixes in the slider," the Miami manager said. "He kept us off balance."

The Davis pitcher hurled a 1-hit shutout in an exceptional effort. He gave up 4 walks and numbered 9 strikeouts.

"I felt good," Paul said. "That's probably the best fastball I've had all season. I was able to locate it pretty well. They were super-aggressive, which helped me."

Up to now Paul has compiled an ERA of 2.53 with a 8-5 mark over 18 starts. He has 124 strikeouts in 114 innings and has held opponents to a .212 batting average.
Monday, July 29th, 2030: Hype League Selects Best Performer
According to the voters, J.J. Nelson of the Davis Stallions had the best week of all Hype League hitters as he was named this week's Player of the Week.

The first baseman's accomplishments include 12 hits in 27 at-bats, a .444 batting average, 4 home runs, 5 RBIs and 5 runs scored.

This year Nelson has hit at a .312 pace and produced 56 RBIs, 25 home runs and scored 49 runs.
Friday, July 26th, 2030: Stallions Novak Smacks 5 Hits!
Davis second baseman Steve Novak could do no wrong in today's 10-0 win over the Bayhwaks as he collected 5 hits.

"In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor...he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Bayhwaks said to the press corps after the game.

Novak agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."

S. Novak hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, tripled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

On the season, Novak is batting .321 with no home runs and 1 RBIs. He has played in 22 games.
