Wally Wallace of the Davis Stallions was masterful today, pitching a 4-hit 7-0 shutout against the London Knights and giving his bullpen a rest by going the distance.
According to his manager, "He had command of every ball and every pitch... great location, too." Wallace had 10 strikeouts and issued 3 walks in an impressive outing.
So far this year Wallace has compiled a 14-10 record with a 3.18 ERA.

 | Sunday, August 5th, 2035: Quezada Pitches Shutout
Edgardo Quezada of the Little Rock Squealing Pigs shut down the Davis Stallions 1-0 on a 2-hitter, holding them scoreless while ringing up 13 strikeouts and allowing no walks.
After the game Quezada said, "Guys have been fouling off a lot of pitches lately and I've been getting into too many deep pitch counts, but I'm pleased with the way things went today. I went right after them and stayed ahead in the count."
This season Quezada has fanned 180 in 144.1 innings and collected a 8-7 record with a 2.68 ERA.

 | Wednesday, August 1st, 2035: Davis Starter Wins July's Pitcher Award
Gabriel Cortéz took a much-deserved turn in the spotlight earlier today as he accepted the Hype League Pitcher of the Month award for July.
The 24-year-old Stallions starter is a relative newcomer to the league, but nonetheless racked up an impressive 5-1 won-lost record in 6 starts. He has fanned 46 batters in 45.1 innings and sports a 1.39 ERA.
In 2035 Cortéz has a 14-5 record with a 2.84 ERA in 20 starts.
