| Breaking News |  | Saturday, August 11th, 2035: Morín Breezes to Shutout Victory Sometimes even Manuel Morín of Coast City isn't sure which pitcher will show up when he takes the mound.
"I've been good sometimes and bad sometimes," he said. This time he looked good and made the West Oahu Cane Fires look bad, blanking them by the score of 6-0.
Morín tossed a 4-hit shutout against them, totaling 7 strikeouts and giving up 2 walks.
In the 2035 season Morín has 11 wins and 6 losses and a 3.30 ERA. |  | Monday, August 6th, 2035: HL Presents Player of the Week Trophy 22-year-old Dusty Turner made a few Coast City headlines during this past week as the rookie second baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Hype League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort.
He cracked 12 hits in 22 at-bats to put up a .545 average. Turner collected 1 home run, 5 RBIs and scored 6 runs.
Thus far this season Turner has hit .299 with 12 home runs, 48 RBIs and scored 54 times. |  | Friday, August 3rd, 2035: 5-Hit Blitz by Turner Dusty Turner put on a hitting clinic today as the Lanterns dumped the Timbers 13-2 at Ballpark of Coast City. The Coast City second baseman sprayed hits all over the ballpark by lashing Tacoma pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game.
He told BNN reporters after the game that he just hit it where they pitched it. "Too often I try to pull the ball too much. Today I just went with the pitch."
D. Turner singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off J. Sutton in the 8th.
This season Turner is swinging the bat at a .300 rate with 109 hits in 363 at-bats.
