Wednesday, September 25th, 2030: Kenneth Buckler Hits #300
The Greenbelt Gophers defeated the Kentucky Juggernaut 3-2 yesterday in a game that featured Kenneth Buckler's 300th career home run.

In the clubhouse, the Gophers center fielder spoke about the milestone achievement. "To be honest, I don't even remember my first home run," he said. "But this one I don't think I'll forget. Who knows if I'll hit another hundred, or fifty, or even ten?"

On his historic day, Buckler banged out 2 hits in 5 at-bats and scored 1 run with 1 RBI.

Checking out his career figures, Buckler has played in 1402 games with a .258 batting average. Among his 1351 hits are 300 home runs. He also has scored 874 runs, stolen 45 bases and driven in 948 runs.
Tuesday, September 10th, 2030: Cortina Booms 300-th Homer
"I wasn't trying to hit a homer. I just wanted to make contact."
That's what Bill Cortina told reporters after he made baseball history today at Destruction Yard. The prolific slugger belted home run #300 in the Kentucky Juggernaut 8-2 victory over the Green Bay EZ Riders.

The standout third baseman collected 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 3 runs batted in and 1 run scored.

"I guess this puts me in baseball's elite," said Cortina. "I don't feel any different. I probably should, but I don't. Still, it is a nice achievement. I did get a little excited, didn't I?"

Cortina is hitting .289 lifetime with 2166 hits, 277 doubles, 14 triples, 300 home runs and 1288 RBIs to date. He has scored 1270 runs and stolen 77 bases.
