| Breaking News | | Tuesday, August 6th, 2030: González No-Hits Palm Springs! Berkeley is abuzz in the wake of a masterful no-hitter by Alfredo González against the Palm Springs Pioneers. In a dominating 1-0 performance at Ballpark of Berkeley, the 20-year-old hurler had 13 strikeouts and 4 walks. Not one batter managed a hit.
The Palm Springs manager said after the game, "You could tell early on it was going to be a long day for us. He made us look real bad. He was that good. And still going strong at the end of the game."
"Yeah, this was a special day for me," said González. I had my good stuff and good movement...good location, too. Even when I was off and made a mistake, I got away with it today."
On his 2030 stats sheet González shows a 13-6 record, 20 starts, 134.2 innings, 186 strikeouts and a 3.07 ERA. | | Saturday, June 29th, 2030: 5-5 Day for Marshall! Marty Marshall really did a number on the Grape Apes -- but Graceland retaliated and did a number on the Bears -- they beat them 10-6.
Not just anyone can get 5 hits in 5 at-bats. But Marshall did just that today for Berkeley and gave his batting average a healthy boost, but did not deliver the victory.
"I felt real good in the batter's box today. I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done," the 22-year-old shortstop said after his record-setting performance. "I just wish we had won the game, too."
M. Marshall singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and doubled in the 9th.
Currently Marshall has 1 home run and a .294 batting average. | | Saturday, June 22nd, 2030: Anderson Fires Shutout in Bears Win After his 7-0 shutout win against the Poutine, Dalton Anderson said, "I went out there to try and eat up innings and help out our bullpen. I felt I had my good stuff... and it turned out my command was solid and my breaking balls were good."
They were better than good as the Bears pitcher put up 7 strikeouts, surrendered no walks, allowed 1 hit and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.
So far this season Anderson has 7 wins and 1 loss and a 2.21 ERA. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record on the road | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 0-0, .000 PCT |
