| Breaking News |  | Saturday, October 12th, 2030: Duarte Tops Best Hitter List
There's something special about a guy who can stride up to the plate and put the ball anywhere -- in the stands, off the wall, into the gap, down the third base line -- you name the place and Tony Duarte probably put it there to win the Hype League Outstanding Hitter Award for 2030.
The Anchorage first baseman belted out 123 hits on his way to a .303 batting average and racked up 26 doubles, no triples, 36 home runs, 94 RBI and 71 runs scored.
All of the league award winners will be acknowledged this weekend at the SION Baseball Writers Association annual dinner.

 | Friday, October 11th, 2030: Top HL Pitcher Announced
The Hype League named the winner of the 2030 Hype League Outstanding Pitcher Award. It went to Víctor González of Anchorage Ankylosaurs for his spectacular season.
With a record of 16-6, González was certainly a worthy winner. He made 28 starts and rang up 179.2 innings, 293 strikeouts and a 2.55 ERA.
This weekend González will be honored by the SION Baseball Writers Association at its annual awards dinner.

 | Monday, September 2nd, 2030: Timbers Whitewash Ankylosaurs, William Winner
Paul William of the Tacoma Timbers worked his mound magic on the Anchorage Ankylosaurs. He blanked them 4-0 on 1 hit, registering 9 strikeouts and no walks.
"Making good pitches is the name of the game and I made some good ones in this one," said William to SION scribes after the game.
This year-to-date William has 9 wins and 11 losses and a 4.35 ERA.
