Rafael Toro of the Miami Vice blanked Pleasurewood Hills 8-0 on a 1-hit complete-game shutout, striking out 11 batters and walking 4.
So far this year Toro has compiled a 15-6 record with a 3.28 ERA.

When Rafael Núñez stepped up to the plate in August, he did it with confidence and today he was honored with the Hype League Batter of the Month award.
The young Pleasurewood Hills first baseman posted a .416 batting average with 5 home runs, 22 RBIs and scored 19 runs. Núñez also worked pitchers for 20 walks to post a .512 on-base percentage.
This season in 121 games Núñez is batting .311 with 21 home runs, 77 RBIs and has scored 69 times.

Big day at bat for Lorenzo González of the Stallions -- 5 hits, but no victory cigar -- his team lost the game. Nevertheless, the Davis right fielder did all he could do with 5 base hits in 5 tries, but not enough to overcome the Pleasurewood Hills Pines. They triumphed over Davis 6-5 at Stallions Ballpark.
L. González singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off D. Hawkins in the 9th.
González is batting .219 in 2036 with 2 home runs, 37 RBIs and 61 runs scored. He has 107 hits in 488 at-bats.
