"I felt great out there. After the second or third inning, I got real comfortable," Felipe Ruíz said in his postgame interview. "Hopefully this is a building block for me. I'm hoping for a few more starts like this."
The Death Valley hurler scored a 7-0 shutout victory over the Gravediggers, stopping them on 2 hits. He rung up 12 strikeouts and gave up 3 walks in today's performance.

Little Rock's B.J. Powers breezed through the Pines lineup today, collecting a 2-hit shutout and a 8-0 victory along the way. Powers fanned 13 as well.
"I didn't really feel like I had my game today," Powers confessed, "but some days are like that -- you just gotta go with what you have."
Powers has posted a 8-8 record in 2035 with a 2.26 ERA. Teams are hitting .189 against him and he has rung up 195 strikeouts in 147.1 innings.
