| Breaking News |  | Saturday, September 28th, 2030: Bellringers Beat Bayhwaks in STK Memorial Trophy It was a storybook year for the Vertigo Bellringers as they closed out a 4-1 series win over the Thunder Bay Bayhwaks to claim the 2030 STK Memorial Trophy. They wrapped it up with a 9-4 victory to cap an incredible season and brought home their 1st championship.
The Bellringers manager gave his view of the series, "We had a lot of things going for us, offense and defense doing it at the right time. That's what it takes win a STK Memorial Trophy."
"We're disappointed we lost, but we're also very proud of what we did all year," said the Bayhwaks manager. "They played better baseball than us and they beat us."
During the JJ League Gonzo Division regular season Vertigo put up a 78-52 record and finished first. |  | Tuesday, September 24th, 2030: Seishisai Too Tough, Blanks Thunder Bay "Sometimes I was smart . . . and sometimes just a little lucky." That's how Ri-bai Seishisai of the Vertigo Bellringers described his shutout victory over the Thunder Bay Bayhwaks. Seishisai blanked them 4-0 on 4 hits while striking out 11 and walking 1.
Checking out his stats for the season, Seishisai has registered 11 wins and 10 losses in 32 starts, 4.04 ERA and struck out 202 batters in 200.2 innings. |  | Wednesday, July 31st, 2030: Gardner Raps Carman for 5 Hits Today at Bayhwaks Ballpark Michael Gardner put on an impressive display of hitting -- the Thunder Bay shortstop tagged Carman pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on his batting spree and lost the game to the Junior Goldeyes by the score of 4-1.
"Hey, the loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it. 5-5 ain't bad in any league."
Despite the terrific performance, Gardner remained somewhat somber. "Sure, I'm happy with my performance today," he was quoted as saying in the locker room, "But all that really matters in this game is that number in the win column. We just didn't get it done today."
M. Gardner singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off M. González in the 9th.
Year-to-date in 89 games Gardner has compiled a .288 batting average with 105 hits and 3 home runs.
