Answer: He's the guy who has stymied the most HL hitters during the last month.
That would be Robert Loveday of the Quebec City Poutine.
He excelled with a 4-0 mark and a 0.98 ERA in 9 starts, tossed 55 innings, fanned 57 and held opposing teams to a .152 average.
That's exactly why the Hype League scribes voted him the Pitcher of the Month.
Loveday has a 11-11 season record so far. In 34 starts, he has fanned 217 batters in 206.2 innings with a 2.66 ERA.

After his 7-0 shutout win against the Poutine, Dalton Anderson said, "I went out there to try and eat up innings and help out our bullpen. I felt I had my good stuff... and it turned out my command was solid and my breaking balls were good."
They were better than good as the Bears pitcher put up 7 strikeouts, surrendered no walks, allowed 1 hit and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.
So far this season Anderson has 7 wins and 1 loss and a 2.21 ERA.

Mario Martínez exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Timbers Ballpark. The Tacoma left fielder had a field day in the 14-3 triumph over the Quebec City Poutine, finishing up with a 5-6 day and a spot in the league record book.
"My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus just to see the ball and try to get a good pitch."
Well, Martínez must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat.
M. Martínez singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
This season Martínez is hitting .221 with 38 hits, 2 home runs, 17 RBIs, scored 21 runs and played in 42 games.
