In the month of August José Salinas thumped the ball with authority, earning Coppage League Batter of the Month honors in the process.
Sonoma's right fielder hit .393 with 7 home runs, 25 RBIs and scored 20 runs.
In 2030 Salinas is batting .300 with 139 hits, 20 home runs, 80 RBIs, 64 walks, .388 OBP and has scored 74 runs. He has played in 122 games.

Junior Hanson of the Evansville River Cats was in command from start to finish in his 8-0 shutout win over the Sonoma Vintners. He struck out 9, walked 2 and allowed 5 hits.
"I felt strong the entire game," Hanson said. "I felt like I had my good stuff. It was just one of those games when everything was working."
This season Hanson has registered 7 wins and 3 losses in 13 starts with a 2.82 ERA.

 | Friday, June 7th, 2030: Ortega Raps Sonoma for 5 Hits
Death Valley first baseman Lorenzo Ortega could do no wrong in today's 12-8 win over the Vintners as he collected 5 hits.
"In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor...he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Vintners said to the press corps after the game.
Ortega agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
L. Ortega singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a GRAND SLAM off W. Young in the 7th.
This season Ortega is batting .355 with 4 home runs.
