In a tremendous performance the right fielder bashed out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, had 4 RBIs and scored 3 times.
At the postgame press conference, he was asked what it felt like to hit three home runs in one game. Gibson answered, "To get one homer is special... two is great... three is just unbelievable!"
B. Gibson struck out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off T. Hamilton in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off T. Hamilton in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off T. Noordijk in the 9th.
In his season totals Gibson has 6 home runs and a .278 batting average. | | Saturday, September 13th, 2031: 5-Hit Blitz by Hemingway Who needs batting practice? Steven Hemingway of Waxahachie apparently doesn't as he battered Carman with a 5-hit outburst in today's game to lead his club to a 12-4 win.
He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. Wow, this was really something... a 5 for 5 day... will my name be in the record books now?"
S. Hemingway tripled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off P. Howard in the 8th.
To date this year Hemingway is batting .279 with 5 home runs. | | Monday, August 11th, 2031: Toller Strokes 5 Hits Larry Toller really did a number on the Timbers in the Carman 20-1 victory.
