He kept them confused the entire ballgame and spun a 3-hit shutout.
The Death Valley manager said in the postgame interview, "Tip your hat to Shaeffer. He kept us off balance all night."
Shaeffer said, "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play. It was just one of those games that things went my way."
He had 2 walks and 5 strikeouts in a strong performance.
So far this year Shaeffer has 9 wins and 10 losses and a 3.98 ERA. | | Saturday, August 3rd, 2030: 5-Hits Blitz by Fishers's Fleming! Who needs batting practice? Al Fleming of Fishers apparently doesn't as he battered Tri-Cities with a 5-hit outburst in today's game to lead his club to a 12-5 win.
He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. Wow, this was really something... a 5 for 6 day... will my name be in the record books now?"
A. Fleming hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
