During a player's career, there are days that stand out, and this day was definitely special! Dennis Nixon went 5 for 5 against the Death Valley Burn at Rams Stadium and the Originals picked up a 14-2 victory.
He exclaimed, "What a day! We win and I get 5 hits! Couldn't be better!" The delighted second baseman was really enjoying the happiness of the moment in the press room.
"He was patient up there today," the Ithaca skipper told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly agressive. Nixon has a tendency to go after some bad balls sometimes."
D. Nixon hit a two-run single in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
Nixon on the season is hitting .375 with no home runs. His stats include 6 RBIs and 12 runs scored.

 | Saturday, July 13th, 2030: Ithaca Wins, Blanks Hilo
Speaking after the game, the Ithaca manager said, "Nobuhiko Yoshida had everything going for him. He controlled their bat speed, stayed down, had a lot of movement... he had it all...masterful."
Yoshida held the Hilo Stars to 3 hits and fashioned a fine 2-0 shutout. He had 3 walks and 6 strikeouts in the game.
"We couldn't get anything going. He certainly had our number," the Hilo skipper told reporters.
This season Yoshida has gone 7-7 with an ERA of 4.84, posting 55 strikeouts in 96.2 innings.

 | Sunday, June 16th, 2030: Meagher Spins Shutout Against Ithaca
John Meagher pitched a strong game in blanking the Ithaca Originals 6-0, allowed no runs on 1 hit, totaled 12 strikeouts and gave up 1 walk.
The Muncie manager said he could tell right away it was going to be a good game for Meagher. "Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," he said. "He threw a lot of strikes."
In pitching stats this season Meagher has rung up 5 wins and 2 losses in 11 games. He has an ERA of 2.86 and has fanned 85 batters in 69.1 innings.
