On top of the Danville hit parade today was Jerry Taylor. He went to the plate 9 times and tagged 5 hits, but it was Summerville that marched off with the 7-6 win. He certainly had their number at the plate in this record-making 5-9 performance, however the HellOnEarths marked it up in the victory column.
The sweet swinging second baseman told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."

Sometimes even Katsuyuki Takahashi of Tri-Cities isn't sure which pitcher will show up when he takes the mound.
"I've been good sometimes and bad sometimes," he said. This time he looked good and made the Danville Blue Devils look bad, blanking them by the score of 8-0.
Takahashi tossed a 4-hit shutout against them, totaling no strikeouts and giving up no walks.
This year Takahashi has compiled a 6-11 mark with a 3.42 ERA in 20 starts.
