| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, October 1st, 2031: Albany Engineers Sweep Pina Cup
Today the Engineers fans broke out the brooms at Engineers Ballpark and it worked -- Albany swept the Brownstown Harleys 4-0 and are the 2031 Paul Pina Baseball Commemorative Pina Cup champions for the 3rd time in their history.
The Engineers derailed Brownstown 6-1 to rap up the title.
Albany finished the season with a record of 90-40 and ranked first in the Coppage League NY-Penn Division.

5 times is a charm -- at least in the world of baseball. When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book and the latest honoree is Jonathon Powell of the Stevens Point Troondonts. He tore up the Brownstown Harleys to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the Stevens Point 12-1 win today at Troondonts Ballpark.
"Powell was a tough out today," the Brownstown manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."
J. Powell doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run triple in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off W. Murphy in the 8th.
Thus far in 2031 Powell has hit .302 with 8 home runs, 40 RBIs and scored 37 runs.

| Thursday, August 28th, 2031: Powell Hits for Cycle Against Brownstown
Most fans have never seen a player get a single, double, triple and home run all in one game -- but it happened today at Troondonts Ballpark. Jonathon Powell of the Stevens Point Troondonts hit for the cycle against Brownstown. He went 5-5 in the 12-1 victory, scored 2 runs and had 5 runs batted in. It was a day to remember for both Powell and the fans.
