Today the Ice Weasels downed the Crows 17-16 as John Woodruff sprayed hits all over David Letterman Field in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with 5 hits in 6 at-bats.
The Indianapolis left fielder said to reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today and I didn't miss any of them."
J. Woodruff hit a two-run double in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and struck out in the 8th.
In the 2031 season Woodruff is batting .409 with 9 hits and no home runs. He has scored 6 times and batted in 6.

It was a dazzling performance by Dwight Seemann of the Orono Bear Brewers. He shut out the Columbus Crows 10-0 on a brilliant 1-hitter, ringing up 6 strikeouts and issuing 1 walk.
Seemann has a 11-10 season record so far. In 26 starts, he has fanned 136 batters in 180.2 innings with a 4.23 ERA.

Jesus Gonzalez of the Columbus Crows could be headed for the disabled list after suffering a strained tricep tendon in a game against the Greenbelt Gophers. He is expected to miss at least 2 weeks. The Columbus reliever was injured throwing a pitch. Gonzalez said, "Right now I am pretty sore and I don't feel very good at all."
