Friday, May 2nd, 2031: Rodríguez Tosses Shutout for Field A

Tuesday, September 17th, 2030: Red Team Win 2030 Stafford Cup
The Field A Red Team concluded the season in grand fashion -- they won the Stafford League Stafford Cup. They nailed it down at Ballpark of Field A by whipping the Floyd Barbers 6-4 to win it all. They took the series 4-2.

Their motto for the season was "Win or Die Trying".

"They never let up and they never stopped trying the whole season," the Red Team manager proudly told reporters. "They hustled and fought the whole season and it continued in the playoffs. They are a very special bunch of guys."

To get their 1st league crown, the Red Team finished up the regular season in the Stafford League International Division with a 76-54 record, ending up in first place in the division standings.
Monday, August 19th, 2030: Whaley Cracks 5 Hits
It wasn't poetic justice.

Milo Whaley of the Gravediggers had a terrific 5-hit game today, really socking it to the Field A Red Team, but his team didn't win the game.

In the clubhouse after the 13-6 loss, he moaned to the press, "Hey, I don't want to sound ungrateful, but something is missing here. When you have a great game you should win the game, too."

And he definitely had an unforgettable day in the batter's box, ripping out 5 hits in 5 at-bats.

The manager for the Gravediggers sympathized with his shortstop and told SION reporters after the game, "Milo played a whale of a game, but sometimes individual brilliance is not enough to win...baseball is a team sport...it takes more than just one player to win a game."

M. Whaley hit an RBI single in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off S. Ashton in the 8th.

In the current season, Whaley has put up a .262 batting average with 107 hits, 7 home runs, 51 RBIs and scored 39 times.
