"It was just one of those games, when everything went right. I threw a lot of strikes," B.J. Payne said. "And the pitches they did get to hit, they didn't do anything with them."
The New York Peeping Toms pitcher really got it done in his 1-0 shutout victory over the Nashua Nighthawks, shutting them down on 2 hits. Payne issued 4 walks and had 5 strikeouts.
This year Payne has fanned 121 in 207 innings and collected a 9-10 record with a 2.61 ERA.

Nashua's Brad Shelton breezed through the Herrells lineup today, collecting a 5-hit shutout and a 2-0 victory along the way. Shelton fanned 9 as well.
"I didn't really feel like I had my game today," Shelton confessed, "but some days are like that -- you just gotta go with what you have."
This year Shelton has a 2-9 record with a 3.06 ERA.

Kimitada Okuta had the Nashua Nighthawks dancing to his tune today with a sparkling 5-0 shutout performance for the Clifton Heights Ball Bearings. He gave up 3 hits and collected 2 walks and 8 strikeouts.
Nashua hitters were bewildered throughout the game by his delivery.
The opposing manager said, "When you face a guy who hides the ball like he does, it takes a couple of at-bats to try to find his release point. We just never figured him out."
