| Breaking News |  | Friday, September 27th, 2030: South Beach Pitcher Racks Up Outstanding Pitcher Award
Chet Jenkins of the South Beach Bums had a tremendous season and was chosen the Outstanding Pitcher Award winner in the Read League.
He crafted a standout 14-5 mark in 27 starts, striking out 259, while walking 53. He worked 190 innings, yielded 123 hits and a .185 team batting average and posted a 1.80 ERA.
For his standout season Jenkins will be honored at the annual SION Baseball Writers Association awards banquet this weekend.

The Read League made it official today: Carlos Díaz is the Player of the Week.
He really glistened on the diamond this week with a .632 average to take home the honor. The South Beach shortstop went 12-19, drove in 3 runs, scored 6 times and hit no home runs.
In the current season, Díaz has put up a .328 batting average with 140 hits, 2 home runs, 39 RBIs and scored 72 times.

 | Monday, August 19th, 2030: South Beach's Perry in Shutout Victory
South Beach pitcher Trey Perry put on a show today and walked away with a 6-0 shutout victory over the Clifton Heights Ball Bearings, throttling them on 4 hits. He just cruised through their lineup, fanning 8 and walking 1 in a strong outing.
"He was very efficient and he hit his spots," his manager said. "He stayed down in the zone and stayed away from the middle of the plate."
This year in 24 starts, Perry has recorded 13 wins and absorbed 5 losses. He has pitched 172 innings, allowed 136 hits, struck out 176 and has a 2.72 ERA.
