| Breaking News | | Sunday, August 31st, 2031: Basso Twirls Nukes to Shutout Win The Metropolitans can take comfort in knowing that they will not have to face Leonard Basso again for a while. After the doctor informed the Capital City Metropolitans manager that Olivarez was expected to miss 7-8 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the reliever could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.
This year Olivarez has chalked up a 4.22 ERA with no saves. In 47 relief appearances he has put up a 3-3 won-lost mark and struck out 23 batters in 49 innings. | | Sunday, July 13th, 2031: Great Day for Gómez -- 5 Hits It was high-5 day at Shark Cove, at least for António Gómez of the Honolulu Sharks.
