Arizona pitcher Edward Scoville blanked the Los Alamos Nukes 7-0, tossing a 1-hitter while issuing no walks and collecting 5 strikeouts.
After his sharp shutout performance, he said that he gives a lot of the credit to his batterymate. "Me and him are just locked in out there. He's so great at having a feel for hitters. I couldn't do what I'm doing without him."

 | Friday, November 8th, 2030: Mckittrick Tops Best Hitter List
Los Alamos's Lee Mckittrick put the wraps on an excellent campaign today with the 2030 Vaughan League Silver Slugger.
He scorched the opposition with a .317 average, picking up 186 hits, 18 doubles, 4 triples, 51 home runs and 120 RBIs while scoring 135 runs, in what many would argue has been the highlight season of the veteran's career.
For being named the VL's best batter, Mckittrick will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend.

 | Monday, September 30th, 2030: Maddocks Out for 1-2 Weeks
Watching James Maddocks getting helped off the field today at The Crater, fans of the Los Alamos Nukes feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the closer will miss 1-2 weeks with dead arm syndrome. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Maddocks suffered the injury throwing a pitch in the game against the Bear Brewers.
This season Maddocks has 34 saves with a 5-4 mark and 2.95 ERA.
