| Breaking News | | Wednesday, October 2nd, 2030: Bad News for Bees, Erickson Injured After the end of today's game between Queens and Santa Cruz, Joseph Erickson skipped the clubhouse and headed straight for the doctor's office. After he was removed from the game as a precaution after throwing a pitch, the Bees had their worst fears confirmed when it turned out to be more serious. The closer will miss at least 4 weeks with a hyperextended elbow.
In the 2030 season Erickson has worked 80 innings in 59 relief appearances and earned 7 saves. He has dished out 75 strikeouts and walked 20 with a 6-2 mark and a 2.70 ERA. | | Monday, September 23rd, 2030: Kenzaburo Selected Top Player Sakonshirou Kenzaburo of the Bees relied on a sharp eye and a quick bat to outpace all other Gindin League hitters last week and collect the Player of the Week Award.
He hit .375 with 9 hits in 24 at-bats, 4 home runs and 16 RBIs.
Thus far this year Kenzaburo has hit .327 with 28 home runs and 126 RBIs. | | Wednesday, September 18th, 2030: 5-6 Day for Shewmaker! Stephen Shewmaker told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard."
Well, that's just what Shewmaker of the Norwich Mustardmen did against the Queens Bees. He went to the plate 6 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Bees, who suffered a 10-9 defeat.
"Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us."
S. Shewmaker hit a two-run home run off J. Ensign in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit a solo-shot off B. Cullison in the 10th.
This season Shewmaker has hit at a .224 clip with 61 RBIs, 18 home runs and 56 runs scored. He has played in 138 games. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 103-59, .636 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 53-28, .654 PCT | | Record on the road | 50-31, .617 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 13-5, .722 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 22-17, .564 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 27-12, .692 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 76-47, .618 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 8-2, .800 PCT | | Record in April | 14-13, .519 PCT | | Record in May | 21-7, .750 PCT | | Record in June | 21-7, .750 PCT | | Record in July | 11-14, .440 PCT | | Record in August | 18-9, .667 PCT | | Record in September | 18-9, .667 PCT |
