Fans in Des Moines woke up this morning to learn that their team had traded a 2nd round draft pick, a 3rd round draft pick, a 4th round draft pick and a 5th round draft pick to the Hollywood Media Whores. In return, the Delinquents will receive $1,425,000 in cash.

$450,000 in cash will now be playing for the Des Moines Delinquents and a 3rd round draft pick will be suiting up for the Capital City Metropolitans. The trade was announced today at a press conference by club officials.

It was a good day for the Delinquents at The Detention Center as they clipped the Durham Dragons 18-3. It was tremendous day for Jacob Steffens, who went on quite a hitting spree with a 5 for 5 barrage.
The Des Moines right fielder told reporters after his big 5-hit performance, "I don't have any buzz words. I'm 'not dialed in' or 'in a zone,' as they say. As far as the hitting goes, I try to keep it simple. I try not to look into it too much. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then in a split-second decide to try to hit it. Today I picked up the spin very well."
J. Steffens hit a solo-shot off R. Ivie in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off C. Garza in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
This season Steffens is hitting at a .312 pace with 13 home runs, 65 RBIs and has scored 85 times.
