| Breaking News | | Sunday, April 20th, 2031: Miller Whitewashes Fighting Prawns The Fighting Prawns manager was philosophical after his team was shut out by the Ayr Stunt Monkeys 1-0.
"It was just one of those games, shake it off and do better next time," he said.
Larry Miller blanked them on 4 hits with no walks and 7 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs. They were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Miller said.
"I set them up pretty good, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
| | Saturday, April 12th, 2031: Stunt Monkeys Miller Blanks Honkies Larry Miller of the Ayr Stunt Monkeys was on top of his game today. He tantalized the Seminole Honkies with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest and came away with a 4-0 shutout.
In the postgame comments, the Seminole skipper said, "He had the changeup working. You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."
The Ayr hurler had 12 strikeouts, gave up no walks and surrendered 5 hits in his complete game effort.
Miller told reporters after the game, "To be successful in this league, you have to keep the ball down. If you don't, they'll make you pay."
| | Monday, April 7th, 2031: Pardo on Fire: 5-5 for Ayr Ayr shortstop Enrique Pardo could do no wrong in today's 8-2 win over the Dragons as he collected 5 hits.
"In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor... he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Dragons said to the press corps after the game.
Pardo agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
E. Pardo singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off C. Garza in the 8th.
