| Breaking News |  | Saturday, April 12th, 2031: Celes Dovando Out for Season
Utah fans will be disappointed to learn that Celes Dovando developed a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch in today's game. After the doctor informed the Utah Raptors manager that Dovando was expected to miss 7-8 months, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the starting pitcher could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.

 | Wednesday, November 6th, 2030: Gindin League Selects Premier Rookie
Who says you can't have it all?
23-year-old Iván León had the time of his life in 2030. He made the final cut in spring training, made the starting lineup, had a fine rookie season -- and now, the Utah third baseman has been voted the Gindin League Rookie of the Year by the SION Baseball Writers Association.
During the year León was steady and consistent at the plate, compiling a .273 average with 14 home runs, 78 RBIs and scoring 64 runs. All in all it was a season to remember.
He will receive his trophy at the SBWA ceremony this weekend.

An efficient outing for Dominic Mota usually means a win for Wisconsin. Today was no exception, as the 27-year-old starter held Utah to a long line of goose eggs. He struck out 8 and gave up 3 hits in the 1-0 shutout.
