| Breaking News |  | Sunday, April 13th, 2031: Originals Whitewash Paladins, Contreras Winner
Lenard Contreras of the Bantam Originals spun his magic on the Poughkeepsie Paladins today. He blanked them 3-0 on 4 hits, registering 11 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Contreras said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, the Bantam skipper said, "We got solid pitching, good defense and we took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations. This was just a solid performance by everyone."

 | Friday, April 11th, 2031: Paladins Turnbow Out Rest Of Season
The doctors have spoken and Terry Turnbow of the Poughkeepsie Paladins didn't like what he heard. The 30-year-old third baseman is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Turnbow sustained his season-ending injury during the Bantam Originals game yesterday at Round Table. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing the ball. Today the Poughkeepsie medical staff reported Turnbow had a torn back muscle and would be absent from the lineup for at least 8 months.
Turnbow is hitting .211 this season with no home runs, 2 RBIs and 1 run scored. He has 4 hits in 19 at-bats.

 | Monday, September 16th, 2030: Week's Best Player Honored by VL
With some great hand-eye coordination and a sweet, compact swing, Poughkeepsie Paladins third baseman Kenneth Caskey took the Vaughan League by storm this past week to take the latest Player of the Week honors.
"The ball was looking like a beach ball all week," a happy Caskey said to SION reporters. "When it's that big, it doesn't matter where they throw it -- I can hit it anywhere."
The 33-year-old third baseman hit .423 (11-26) last week with 4 home runs, 9 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
This season Caskey has 23 home runs and a .270 batting average.
