| Breaking News | | Wednesday, September 12th, 2035: Griffin Batters Trenton for 5 Hits It was a sensational day at the plate for Dave Griffin as he led the charge to a 9-2 win over the Roadkill.
The Greenbelt right fielder was pure misery for the Trenton pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
The manager for the Roadkill told BNN reporters after the game, "Griffin put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
D. Griffin singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off V. Dart in the 8th.
This season Griffin has hit 8 home runs and posted a .296 batting average. | | Thursday, August 30th, 2035: Needham at His Best, Whips Roadkill Speaking after the game, the Bantam manager said, "Randy Needham had everything going for him. He changed speeds effectively, stayed down, had a lot of movement... he had it all... masterful."
Needham held the Trenton Roadkill to 5 hits and fashioned a fine 7-0 shutout. He had 3 walks and 9 strikeouts in the game.
"We couldn't get anything going. He certainly had our number," the Trenton skipper told reporters.
This year Needham has registered 4 wins and 20 losses in 26 starts with a 5.89 ERA while registering 88 strikeouts and 59 walks in 154.1 innings. | | Wednesday, July 18th, 2035: Zurita Humbles Trenton Dennis Zurita effectively shut down the Roadkill today, blanking them 5-0 on 5 hits, ringing up 6 strikeouts and allowing 2 walks. The Paladins pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game went on.
"I don't know if I was getting any stronger," Zurita said after the game, "I feel like my mechanics were getting better. I was able to make some adjustments and get a little more comfortable out there."
The Roadkill skipper said, "We had some opportunities, but weren't able to execute. We just didn't swing the bats very well today."
Looking at his season stats, Zurita has won 6 and lost 6, collecting 45 strikeouts and 25 walks in 75.2 innings with a 5.23 ERA. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 68-94, .420 PCT | | Position in Division | 5th, 44.0 GB | | Record at home | 38-43, .469 PCT | | Record on the road | 30-51, .370 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 7-7, .500 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 24-20, .545 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 16-23, .410 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 52-71, .423 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 6-4, .600 PCT | | Record in April | 9-11, .450 PCT | | Record in May | 10-17, .370 PCT | | Record in June | 15-13, .536 PCT | | Record in July | 10-16, .385 PCT | | Record in August | 9-19, .321 PCT | | Record in September | 12-15, .444 PCT | | Record in October | 3-3, .500 PCT |
