Utica pitcher Reynaldo Vásquez gave the Philadelphia Billyclubs fits today as he blanked them 3-0 on 5 hits. He registered 5 strikeouts and 3 walks in the shutout.
His manager said, "When he's locating his pitches, he becomes unpredictable. He had Philadelphia guessing the entire game."
In 32 starts this season Vásquez has crafted a 14-7 record with a 4.51 ERA.

 | Sunday, September 23rd, 2035: Philadelphia Loses Reyna for Season
Héctor Reyna of the Billyclubs just might have to call it quits for the season. The 26-year-old Philadelphia right fielder received a possible season-ending injury against the Trenton Roadkill recently at Frank Rizzo Memorial Stadium. Reyna suffered a bruised ankle while making a defensive play. The Billyclubs medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 2 weeks.
So far in 2035 Reyna is batting .218 with 13 home runs, 57 RBIs and 59 runs scored. He has 83 hits in 381 at-bats and a .311 OBP.

 | Tuesday, September 11th, 2035: Torre Smashes 300th Homer
The crowd roared -- they knew they were seeing history -- and Francisco Torre was delighted, too -- the 31-year-old Billyclubs first baseman was making history with his 300th career homer. The crowd buzzed and roared again when Torre stuck his head out of the dugout for a curtain call.
"Never, as a kid, did I ever think I'd hit even one," he told BNN after hitting No. 300 in a 7-6 victory over Arizona. Torre went 1-4 in the game, had 1 RBI and scored 2 runs.
Torre has played in 1254 games and posted a lifetime .309 average. He has 1574 hits, 212 doubles, 25 triples and 300 homers. In addition he has driven in 976 runs and scored 864 times.
