The streak has been snapped.
Wally Wells failed to get a hit in today's game against the Pirates and his 28-game hitting spree has come to an end. The 19-year-old Utah right fielder was 0-for-4, but the Homophobes got the win and defeated the Pirates 2-0.
"I'm not disappointed at all; I had a great run," Wells said. "It was fun. I got to 28 games. I got my name into an elite group with a bunch of good ballplayers."
This season Wells is batting .418 with 2 home runs. His totals include 71 RBIs and 89 runs scored.

 | Saturday, September 6th, 2036: Dublin's Lewis Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits
The Jacks whipped the Homophobes 17-5 at Demons Ballpark and Colt Lewis had a big hand in the win. The Jacks catcher came to the plate 6 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Lewis and a tough day for Utah.
"I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan."
Plan or not, Lewis delivered today -- 5-6 is outstanding in any league.
C. Lewis singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off D. Clay in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 8th.
This year Lewis is batting .357 with 163 hits, 10 home runs, 67 RBIs, 125 walks, .503 OBP and has scored 84 runs.

It was a big day for Ánibal Ortega of the Dublin Jacks. He led his club to a 32-11 victory over the Utah Homophobes today at Demons Ballpark. The 18-year-old second baseman smoked Homophobes pitching for 5 hits in 7 at-bats.
Á. Ortega singled in the 1st, singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and flied out in the 6th.
Thus far this year Ortega is batting .302 with no home runs, 74 RBIs and 78 runs scored.
