Friday, August 29th, 2036: Injury Sidelines Chuck Neely for Season
The season is ending on a bad note for Chuck Neely, left fielder for the West Aurora Originals. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. Neely was hurt against the North Northwest Secret Agents while throwing the ball. He suffered a ruptured bicep tendon and will be out for at least 13 months.

In 2036 Neely is batting .337 with no home runs.
Tuesday, August 26th, 2036: Dailey 5-8 for Aardvarks
Lafayette third baseman Vic Dailey went 5-for-8 today and paced the Aardvarks to a 9-8 victory over the West Aurora Originals at Ballpark of Anna.

V. Dailey singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 6th, struck out in the 8th, singled in the 9th, hit a solo-shot off C. Clark in the 11th and hit a solo-shot off W. Goodman in the 13th.

Dailey is batting .327 with 6 home runs and 67 RBIs this season.
Tuesday, August 19th, 2036: 5-7 Day for Marnoch
It was a big day with the bat for Josh Marnoch of the West Aurora Originals as he bashed out hit after hit after hit against Waukesha.

To the press after the ballgame he modestly said, "Guys, it's just one game in a long season. I hit it hard and found some holes today... and Bingo! -- 5 hits in 7 tries! But my hits are not the big story in the game. We lost the game 10-9. That's the story. The Ottos flat out beat us!"

At the end of the game Marnoch had collected 5 hits in 7 at-bats and a small mention in the record book. He was happy for his big day with the bat, but not too happy with the outcome of the game.

The beat writers were happy, too. They had their big story -- they could write about his big day with the bat.

J. Marnoch singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th, singled in the 10th, singled in the 12th, struck out in the 14th and hit a two-run home run off L. MacHendrie in the 16th.

This season in 94 games, Marnoch has hit at a .253 clip with 93 hits, 5 home runs, 41 RBIs and 38 runs scored.
