| Breaking News | | Monday, August 27th, 2035: Barfoot Sensational, 5-6 Willie Barfoot had an answer for everything the West Aurora Originals threw him today in the Lafayette 11-4 triumph at Attackers Ballpark. He made good contact 5 times and 5 times he drilled the ball for a base hit.
The Lafayette first baseman went 5 for 6 in the game to put his name in the record book.
Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Barfoot said, "I just see the ball and I hit it."
W. Barfoot hit a two-run home run off C. Phelps in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This season Barfoot is hitting .363 with 187 hits, 9 home runs, 68 RBIs, scored 73 runs and played in 122 games. | | Saturday, August 25th, 2035: Year Over for Freshmen Unknown The doctors have spoken and Joe Unknown of the Greensboro Freshmen didn't like what he heard. The 24-year-old right fielder is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Unknown sustained his season-ending injury during the Pasadena Voodoo game yesterday at Ballpark of Greensboro. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while making a defensive play. Today the Greensboro medical staff reported Unknown had a possible ruptured disc (back) and would be absent from the lineup for at least 7 months.
| | Saturday, August 25th, 2035: Campos Reaches 300 Mark It was a historic day for Portland's fine shortstop Damian Campos. He slammed home run number 300 in the Fighting Prawns 7-2 loss to the Ayr Stunt Monkeys at The Prawn Shop.
He told reporters after the game, that he was disappointed in losing the game. "It's great to get that many homers, but I don't play for homers -- I play to win. That's the name of the game."
In his milestone-making game Campos went 2 for 6, scored 1 run and collected 2 RBI. That home run put him in a select group of ballplayers.
All-time Campos has played in 1830 games, batted .302 with 300 home runs and 2196 base hits. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 61-69, .469 PCT | | Position in Division | 5th, 21.5 GB | | Record at home | 29-36, .446 PCT | | Record on the road | 32-33, .492 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 3-4, .429 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 15-13, .536 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 10-15, .400 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 51-54, .486 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 4-6, .400 PCT | | Record in April | 8-6, .571 PCT | | Record in May | 17-12, .586 PCT | | Record in June | 12-14, .462 PCT | | Record in July | 11-17, .393 PCT | | Record in August | 13-16, .448 PCT | | Record in September | 0-4, .000 PCT |
