Estanis Tejada would not be denied the Vaughan League Player of the Week Award for this past week. His consistent stroke, which produced 13 hits in 23 at-bats and a .565 average, made him the clear favorite to win the honor.
"You just go out there and do what you have to do," said Tejada, "When I'm up, I try to focus and block everything else out of my mind...and have a good at-bat. I'm up there to get a hit or advance a runner, not to get caught up in the emotion of the moment. I hope I can win this award every week."
He also tallied 5 home runs, 12 RBIs and 8 runs scored.
So far this season Tejada is hitting .284 with 35 home runs.

 | Wednesday, August 28th, 2030: Torres Rips New Orleans for 5 Hits
5 hits in 6 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today Augustus Torres of the Bantam Originals had a sensational 5-6 game against New Orleans at Tyson Park. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark in his team's 11-9 shellacking of the Occult.
In the postgame press conference he joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me and I did it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off...Right, skipper?"
A. Torres singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off I. Vázquez in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.
Currently Torres is batting .306 with 141 hits and 16 home runs. He has knocked in 69 runs and scored 71 times.
