Kevin Elder pitched a strong game in blanking the Nashville Flyers 7-0, allowed no runs on 4 hits, totaled 5 strikeouts and gave up 1 walk.
The Herndon manager said he could tell right away it was going to be a good game for Elder. "Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," he said. "He threw a lot of strikes."
So far this season Elder has a 4-5 record with a 4.39 ERA.

This week he took his hitting to another level. That's why Efren Roof of the Herndon Hamshanks was named the Behm League Player of the Week.
For the week the 29-year-old designated hitter batted .500 (14-28) with 2 home runs, 6 runs and 6 RBIs.
So far in 2030, Roof is batting .292 with 17 home runs and 80 RBIs.

In June Muncie starter Larry Riddell mystified Coppage League hitters and carried off the Pitcher of the Month honors by chalking up a 3-1 record in 6 starts.
The 31-year-old Riddell added 55 strikeouts in 44 innings and 9 walks to his season record and compiled a 1.64 ERA. Opposing batters hit .166 against him.
This year Riddell has a 8-3 record with a 2.05 ERA in 16 starts.
