Jack Callaghan was dynamite today and just blew Orono away in the 5-0 victory. The Norman Baits starter had everything working as he hurled a 4-hit shutout over the Ingersolls, recording 7 strikeouts and no walks.
"He was pure nasty out there today. I don't think any team in the would've had a chance against what he was bringing," said the Orono skipper during his postgame press conference.
His record this season is 9-8 in 20 starts and Callaghan has a 3.55 ERA.

 | Wednesday, June 19th, 2030: Injury Ends Career of Dave Sandoval
The Orono Ingersolls were jolted by some terrible news -- Dave Sandoval's baseball career was pronounced over -- the result of a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament.
The club's GM told SION reporters, "We were all stunned by the news. Injuries are a part of the game, but you never get used to this kind of devastating news."
In 2030 Sandoval is currently batting .287 with 7 home runs and 25 RBIs. In 49 games he has reached base at a .349 rate and scored 25 runs to date.

 | Sunday, June 16th, 2030: Lupo Befuddles Madison
Mario Lupo of the Orono Ingersolls shut down the Madison Muskies 4-0 on an excellent 5-hitter, holding them scoreless while ringing up 6 strikeouts and allowing 2 walks.
After the game Lupo said, "Guys have been fouling off a lot of pitches lately and I've been getting into too many deep pitch counts, but I'm pleased with the way things went today. I went right after them and stayed ahead in the count."
This season to date, Lupo has fashioned a 5-4 mark and 4.22 ERA in 74.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .302 against him and he has logged 48 strikeouts.
