| Breaking News | | Saturday, August 18th, 2035: Henn Sizzles -- Smokes Sting Rays for 5 Hits It seemed that Montgomery third baseman Mike Henn could do no wrong as the Greys kayoed the Sting Rays 7-1 today as he rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Maui pitchers couldn't get him out as Henn seemed to know which pitches they were throwing.
"I think the Greys were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Maui fan.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," exclaimed the jubilant Henn in the postgame press interview.
M. Henn hit an RBI double in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th.
This year Henn has socked 177 hits in 499 at-bats for a .355 average with 8 home runs. He is getting on base at a .377 pace and his totals also include 74 RBIs and 62 runs scored. | | Sunday, July 29th, 2035: Gillespie Batters Montgomery for 5 Hits Moose Jaw center fielder Nate Gillespie could do no wrong in today's 20-2 win over the Greys as he collected 5 hits.
"In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor... he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Greys said to the press corps after the game.
Gillespie agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
N. Gillespie flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
Gillespie is currently hitting at a .300 pace with 9 home runs, 47 RBIs and has scored 76 times. | | Tuesday, July 17th, 2035: Sousa Batters Montgomery Big Time It was a parade of hits for José Sousa of the Batavia Tevatrons... one right after another... a total of 5 for the day. He ravaged the Montgomery Greys for 5 hits in his 5 at-bats and propelled the Tevatrons to a 12-8 victory.
"Sousa was really good and we were really bad," groaned the Greys manager. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him."
J. Sousa hit an RBI single in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off J. Santana in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off D. Moran in the 9th.
