Manny Núñez of the Burlington Knights had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Outstanding Hitter Award for 2035.
The 23-year-old center fielder put up a .311 average and a .378 on-base percentage, piling up 149 hits, 39 doubles, 7 triples, 19 home runs, 105 RBIs and 84 runs scored.

Speaking after the game, the Burlington manager said, "Ernie Kelly had everything going for him. He changed speeds effectively, stayed down, had a lot of movement... he had it all... masterful."
Kelly held the Vancouver Grizzled Vets to 4 hits and fashioned a fine 7-0 shutout. He had 2 walks and 17 strikeouts in the game.
"We couldn't get anything going. He certainly had our number," the Vancouver skipper told reporters.
Looking at his season stats, Kelly has won 6 and lost 2, collecting 105 strikeouts and 41 walks in 83.1 innings with a 3.02 ERA.

Fans at Knights Ballpark witnessed the Knights blank the Voodoo behind a superb effort by Ernie Kelly. The Burlington pitcher allowed 1 hit in recording the shutout.
On his stats sheet this season Kelly shows a 5-1 record, 12 starts, 70.2 innings, 83 strikeouts and a 2.80 ERA.
