Enrique Alicea of the Burlington Knights whitewashed the Greensboro Freshmen 12-0 in a complete-game win, limiting them to 4 hits while chalking up 9 strikeouts and giving up 5 walks.
Talking to BNN writers after the game, his manager said, "He's got the makeup. He's not afraid to challenge guys. Enrique is pretty poised out there. He knows how to pitch and how to use his stuff."
In 19 starts this season Alicea has compiled a 9-7 record and a 2.90 ERA.

 | Sunday, August 17th, 2036: Red-Hot Barnhardt Cools off Field C
Bill Barnhardt was sneaky fast, on the mark and hard to hit today. He blanked the Field C Green Team 3-0 on 1 hit and had 2 walks and no strikeouts.
"You know what he's going to throw. You know what to expect. And you still can't hit it," the Field C skipper told reporters after the shutout loss to the Greensboro Freshmen.
"He just had a real deceiving fastball today and he was throwing it for strikes."
So far this season Barnhardt has a 4-14 record with a 5.53 ERA.

 | Monday, July 21st, 2036: Philadelphia LF Injured
Philadelphia fans will be disappointed to learn that Paco Díaz developed a sprained meniscus (knee) while making a defensive play in today's game. After the doctor informed the Philadelphia Billyclubs manager that Díaz was expected to miss 3-4 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the left fielder could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.
Díaz on the season is batting .299 with 5 home runs. His totals include 19 RBIs and 17 runs scored. He has played in 39 games.
