Today the Muskies downed the Originals 13-4 as Miguel Holguín sprayed hits all over Muckies Ballpark in a 5-hit explosion, finishing up with 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
The Madison second baseman said to SION reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today, and I didn't miss any of them."
M. Holguín singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
Holguín currently has a .328 batting average with 57 hits, 2 homers, 25 RBIs, 32 runs scored and a .385 OBP.

 | Thursday, May 30th, 2030: Muñiz Out of Action, Listed DTD
It's a long season, and everyone picks up some cuts and bruises along the way. The latest star to be suffering this year is Francisco Muñiz of the Allston Originals, who suffered a finger blister while throwing a pitch in yesterday's contest against Herndon. While he could play through the injury, it's unclear whether or not the Allston organization will risk that or simply sit him out for the 1-2 weeks the injury is expected to last.
He has made 4 relief appearances this year with 0 saves. Muñiz has achieved a 3-0 record while holding opposing hitters to a .244 batting average and posting a 3.24 ERA. He has tossed 41.2 innings, given up 38 base hits, fanned 37 and issued 3 walks.

 | Sunday, May 5th, 2030: Perras Injured, Out of Lineup 1-2 Weeks
After injuring himself, Originals reliever Flavio Perras headed straight to the hospital. He was removed from the game as a precaution after throwing a pitch and the team's worst fears were confirmed when it turned out to be a little more serious. Perras will miss at least 1-2 weeks with back spasms.
Over the season, he has made 8 relief appearances with no saves. He has K'd 12 batters in 13.2 innings, yielded 4 walks and has a 0.66 ERA. Perras's record this year is 1-0.
