Paul Maine exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Doubleday Park. The Trenton third baseman had a field day in the 11-4 triumph over the Green Bay EZ Riders, finishing up with a 5-6 day and a spot in the league record book.
"My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus just to see the ball and try to get a good pitch."
Well, Maine must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat.
P. Maine hit a solo-shot off R. Long in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
This year Maine is hitting .357 with 30 home runs.

 | Tuesday, July 2nd, 2030: Big Day for Campos! Swats 5 Hits!
Damian Campos of the Honkies was unstoppable in today's 9-1 victory over the Triangle Vajdas at The Cracker Barrel. He battered them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Seminole third baseman after the game. "All I had to do was swing, and I connected. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-5 won't hurt your batting average like 0-5 will."
D. Campos singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off J. Luna in the 8th.
Campos is hitting .288 this year with 7 home runs, 32 RBIs and 33 runs scored. He has 75 hits in 260 at-bats, 16 walks and a .337 on-base percentage. Campos has played in 65 games.

If just anyone could go out and hit a baseball, big dollar contracts wouldn't exist. But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. Ronald Fox showed how it's done as he went 5 for 5 against the Eau Claire Eoraptors and helped the Allston Originals beat them 14-1.
The manager for the Eoraptors told the SION sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames."
If Fox keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise.
R. Fox singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off M. Petrus in the 7th.
Currently Fox is batting .450 with 9 hits and 1 home run. He has knocked in 6 runs and scored 5 times.
