Invaders reliever Porter Luong was injured while throwing a pitch against the Nashville Flyers. The injury was diagnosed as a damaged meniscus. The Sturgis standout is not expected to miss too much action and will be listed as day-to-day. He could be out about 2 weeks.
Thus far in 2030, Luong has compiled a 6-8 record, made 60 relief appearances with 1 save, hurling 103.1 innings and striking out 44. He has held the opposition to a .315 batting average with a 5.66 ERA.

 | Monday, August 12th, 2030: Invaders Shut Out Wahoos
Doug Davidson was in command in his outing against the Wyandotte Wahoos. He hurled the Sturgis Invaders to a 7-0 shutout victory, yielded 3 hits and chalked up 5 strikeouts and 5 walks.
"A complete game shutout. That's fun territory for me," he told reporters in the postgame interview. "I had good balance and mechanics and was able to keep the ball down. When I do that, good things happen."
So far this season Davidson has 9 wins and 5 losses and a 4.30 ERA.

 | Monday, July 22nd, 2030: Basilio Vaca Hurt, Out of Action
The Sturgis Invaders will have to make do without Basilio Vaca for 1-2 weeks. He suffered a tender shoulder while throwing a pitch in the game today against the Bloomington Frost Ferrets. His teammates, understandably, were upset about losing the closer. "That's a tough break for him," one of them said. "But this team is resilient. We will just fill in until he gets back." Vaca will miss 1-2 weeks.
To date, Vaca has 4 saves. In 28 relief appearances he has tossed 33 innings, fanned 17 and given up 26 walks with no wins and 6 losses. The Sturgis reliever has recorded a 7.91 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .304 when he on the mound.
