| Breaking News | | Tuesday, September 9th, 2031: Carter Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 26 All good things must come to an end -- and so it was today for Jacob Carter as he saw his 26-game hitting streak end. He went hitless in 4 at-bats at the hands of the Muskies. It wasn't all bad for the 26-year-old left fielder and the Bloomington Frost Ferrets, as they defeated Madison 7-5 at Frost Ferrets Ballpark.
When asked about his hitting streak, a smiling Carter laughed and said, "I guess my luck ran out today."
This year Carter has hit at a .320 clip with 60 RBIs, 10 home runs and 67 runs scored. | | Monday, September 8th, 2031: Carter Goes on Rampage Against Muskies It was an almost perfect day. Bloomington left fielder Jacob Carter displayed a hot bat today, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day. But something was missing -- the Frost Ferrets failed to win -- they lost to the Madison Muskies 8-7
"Some days, Lady Luck is on your side, some days she's not," he modestly told BNN reporters after the game. His manager told the beat writers otherwise, "His hitting wasn't luck today. It's his solid approach to hitting. Jacob is focused, patient and he hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have, and vice versa."
The 26-year-old left fielder for the Frost Ferrets collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats to get his name in the record book.
J. Carter hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
This year Carter is batting .323 with 10 home runs and 60 RBIs. | | Monday, September 8th, 2031: 5-Hit Barrage by Graham Madison second baseman Augie Graham could do no wrong in today's 8-7 win over the Frost Ferrets as he collected 5 hits.
"In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor... he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Frost Ferrets said to the press corps after the game.
Graham agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
A. Graham hit an RBI double in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Currently Graham is batting .319 with 60 hits and 4 home runs. He has knocked in 26 runs and scored 29 times. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 69-61, .531 PCT | | Position in Division | 3rd, 6.0 GB | | Record at home | 34-31, .523 PCT | | Record on the road | 35-30, .538 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 8-1, .889 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 15-22, .405 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 18-15, .545 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 51-46, .526 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 6-4, .600 PCT | | Record in April | 8-2, .800 PCT | | Record in May | 14-14, .500 PCT | | Record in June | 10-16, .385 PCT | | Record in July | 17-12, .586 PCT | | Record in August | 15-13, .536 PCT | | Record in September | 5-4, .556 PCT |
