| Breaking News | | Monday, August 20th, 2035: Player of the Week: Rodríguez of the Sting Rays Leonardo Rodríguez is respected by most Maui Sting Rays fans for his no-frills style of play. The 24-year-old right fielder went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Read League Player of the Week honors.
He compiled a .440 average (11-25) with 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and 8 runs scored.
This season Rodríguez has hit 16 home runs and posted a .316 batting average. | | Saturday, August 18th, 2035: Henn Sizzles -- Smokes Sting Rays for 5 Hits It seemed that Montgomery third baseman Mike Henn could do no wrong as the Greys kayoed the Sting Rays 7-1 today as he rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Maui pitchers couldn't get him out as Henn seemed to know which pitches they were throwing.
"I think the Greys were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Maui fan.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," exclaimed the jubilant Henn in the postgame press interview.
M. Henn hit an RBI double in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th.
This year Henn has socked 177 hits in 499 at-bats for a .355 average with 8 home runs. He is getting on base at a .377 pace and his totals also include 74 RBIs and 62 runs scored. | | Sunday, August 12th, 2035: Davis Sensational, 5-5 Next time the Sting Rays might think twice about pitching to Glen Davis. Today at E-Holes Ballpark the Silicon Valley catcher really burned Maui pitching, going 5-for-5 in the E-Holes 16-3 triumph.
"When he's seeing the ball well," his skipper told reporters, "he can probably stroke a base hit blindfolded."
G. Davis doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, walked in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off A. Hill in the 9th.
In 2035 Davis is hitting .244, batted in 39 runs with 5 home runs and 37 runs scored. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 49-81, .377 PCT | | Position in Division | 5th, 30.5 GB | | Record at home | 28-37, .431 PCT | | Record on the road | 21-44, .323 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 4-6, .400 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 16-20, .444 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 10-23, .303 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 39-58, .402 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 3-7, .300 PCT | | Record in April | 3-11, .214 PCT | | Record in May | 12-17, .414 PCT | | Record in June | 12-14, .462 PCT | | Record in July | 7-21, .250 PCT | | Record in August | 14-15, .483 PCT | | Record in September | 1-3, .250 PCT |
