"He's got a bunch of different arm angles and his ball was really moving," said the Greensboro manager after watching León Rodríguez of the Honolulu Banana Rats humiliate his club 4-0 in a fine 3-hit shutout.
"If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Rodríguez said after he befuddled the Freshmen. "I was making good pitches the entire game."
He whiffed 9 and walked 2 in the complete game effort.
He has made no relief appearances this year with 0 saves. Rodríguez has achieved a 12-6 record while holding opposing hitters to a .237 batting average and posting a 3.64 ERA. He has tossed 170.2 innings, given up 153 base hits, fanned 206 and issued 84 walks.

26-year-old Raúl Hernández made a few Honolulu headlines during this past week as the rookie right fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Read League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort.
He cracked 14 hits in 23 at-bats to put up a .609 average. Hernández collected 2 home runs, 10 RBIs and scored 9 runs.
This year Hernández is batting .288 with 4 home runs and 49 RBIs. In 100 games he has scored 39 times.

| Thursday, August 9th, 2035: Hernández Bangs Out 5 Base Hits
Raúl Hernández really sizzled at the plate in today's 8-4 win over Saints. The Honolulu right fielder blistered Horsham St. Faith for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
"Hernández was too tough to get out today," the Saints skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
R. Hernández hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off A. Murray in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off M. Escamilla in the 9th.
Hernández on the season is batting .285 with 4 home runs. His totals include 45 RBIs and 37 runs scored. He has played in 98 games.
