In an excellent mound performance, Héctor Hernández of the Ashland Victorians whitewashed the Columbus Road Hogs 9-0 on a 3-hitter.
He said after the game, "I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches."
The Columbus manager said, "We just didn't swing the bats well today. Hernández did a good job keeping us guessing."
In all, the Ashland hurler rang up 9 strikeouts and no walks in the shutout win.
To date this year, Hernández shows a 9-6 record, 22 starts, 139 innings, 148 strikeouts and a 3.76 ERA.

 | Thursday, August 16th, 2035: Stone Raps Culpeper County for 5 Hits
It was a sensational day at the plate for Clarence Stone as he led the charge to a 7-6 win over the Claymores.
The Fishtown right fielder was pure misery for the Culpeper County pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
The manager for the Claymores told BNN reporters after the game, "Stone put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
C. Stone singled in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off J. Unknown in the 9th.
Hitting .461 to date, Stone has 5 home runs and 84 RBIs. He has played in 100 games.
