Miguel Rincón of the Whips was unstoppable in today's 17-8 victory over the Las Vegas Fates at Winnipeg Fields. He battered them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Winnipeg catcher after the game. "All I had to do was swing, and I connected. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-5 won't hurt your batting average like 0-5 will."
M. Rincón singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, walked in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off S. Peak in the 8th.

The most recent Pina League Batter of the Month trophy was awarded to first baseman Kevin Harbert of the Winnipeg Whips.
In June he stood head and shoulders above all other batters by hitting .360 with 7 home runs, 29 RBIs and 26 runs scored.
A look at his 2030 stats shows Harbert with a .335 average, 15 home runs, 56 RBIs and 62 runs scored. He has played in 68 games.

| Saturday, June 29th, 2030: Harbert Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
Kevin Harbert was on quite a roll today as he knocked the ball all over the park, collecting 5 hits and leading the Whips to a 16-5 victory over the Saint John Moose Brewers.
After the first three hits, all eyes in the ballpark were drawn to him each time he stepped into the batter's box. Even a few of the opposing fans were pulling for him, knowing they were watching a little baseball-hitting history unfold.
In the clubhouse, crowded by reporters, the Winnipeg first baseman said, "I never realized that batting a little ball around could cause so much commotion." When asked what the secret of hitting so well is, he smiled and replied, "The key to hitting for a high average is to relax, concentrate and hit the ball where they ain't."
Nobody was at home today as Harbert finished the day with 5 hits in 6 at-bats and a line in the record book.
K. Harbert flied out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off R. Zuñiga in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off M. Pagan in the 8th.
